What kind of paint do I use?
Decorative pieces can be painted with a nonfiring paint such as acrylic or a stain that you can buy in any store that has a craft department. If you want the piece to have a gloss look you can spray with a clear gloss or matte finish. You can also buy the glaze spray in the same craft department you buy your paint from. One nice thing I like about the nonfiring paint. You can repaint the piece if you are not satisfied with the look.

Painting food safe Serving pieces.
Serving pieces to be used for food or drink, must be painted with a food safe ceramic glaze and be refired in a kiln. This paint can be purchased from a local ceramic studio or from a ceramic supplier on the internet. Your local shop also can refire your piece in a kiln.
